Problem: Grand Treetop Park (fictional park) would like to reduce the number of hikers needing to be rescued by half (50%). This training was developed after analyzing the high number of hiker rescues needed due to fatigue, dehydration, and lack of supplies.
Solution: The number of park hikers needing rescued will be reduce by 50%. The hikers will leave their visit to the park happy and healthy.
Process: Built in Articulate Rise, I designed the program to equip employees with the essential information to help keep hikers safe during their park visit. I developed the training with interactive lessons on trail ratings and recommended equipment. A final assessment of 5 scenario-based questions, requiring a score of 80%, will assess learning outcomes in line with Kirkpatrick’s Level 2 evaluation. Kirkpatrick’s Level 3 will be measured by comparing rescue statistics before and after employees complete the training.

Problem: Rock Beach PD, a fictional police department, faces challenges with new or transferred employees who are unfamiliar with using DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) cameras. Currently, 60% of photographs taken—whether for crime scenes, surveillance, or traffic accidents—are too dark, blurry, or out of focus.
Solution: The module will improve the quality of photographs in case files by ensuring 95% are well-lit, clear, and focused. Learners will gain the skills to choose the correct settings for capturing high-quality images.
Process: For this training, I conducted a needs analysis focused on employees who are new to using DSLR cameras and struggle with unfamiliar settings. I created a design document for a scenario-based module. I then developed the training in Articulate Storyline and included multimedia elements and hands-on activities to enhance learning. To assess knowledge retention, Kirkpatrick's Level 2 evaluation is implemented through a final assessment consisting of 5 scenario-based questions, requiring a passing score of 80%. For Kirkpatrick's Level 3 evaluation, the training’s effectiveness will be measured by comparing the quality of photographs before and after the training.
